The warm weather is a sign --summer is coming.

Soon, pools will be filled and swimsuits will be the outfit of choice. Field trips and vacations are welcomed traditions, and evenings are reserved for friendly barbecues. Summer is meant to be fun with lots to do. So why not start the season off right?

Tinker Air Force Base will be hosting Summer Bash on June 4. Summer Bash is an awesome way for the Tinker community to get together while having fun.

The event will feature two sides. The first is the children's side, which will have lots of fun games and activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. There will also be blow-up bounce houses, free food and even the band Banana Seat.

The opposite side, located at the picnic grounds, will be the car show side. There will be several categories for vehicles to enter in and remain on display throughout the Bash. America's Wing Band and a DJ will also offer up musical performances for more entertainment.

Sponsors attending the event include TFCU, AT&T, Freddy's Frozen Custard, Raising Cane's, Sprint and Texas Motor Speedway.

So start the summer off right with a Tinker community event that is sure to have lots of fun for everyone.

Summer Bash will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (weather permitting) and is free to everyone.

The event will be located next to Bldg. 6001 and extend to the picnic grounds.
