Vincent knocks down 2nd championship Published April 11, 2016 By John Parker Staff Writer TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Longtime Tinker bowler Curtis Vincent toppled the No. 1 seed to win the 2016 Tinker Air Force Base bowling championship April 3. Vincent, a process analyst with the 76th Aircraft Maintenance Group Transformation Office, is now a two-time base champion after winning in 2013. Vincent has won multiple tournaments over the years. In 2012 he rolled three perfect games - 36 consecutive strikes - in a mixed doubles tournament at the Tinker Bowling Center. "I would just like to thank Brett Moler (the center's general manager) and the rest of the Tinker Bowling Center staff for hosting the many tournaments for the many bowlers on Tinker," Vincent said after his win. "If anyone likes bowling and they haven't been to the Tinker Bowling Center, they really should go. It is the nicest and best bowling center in the area." Glen Banister, the No. 1 seed, nabbed second place in the two-day tournament. Shawn Lowe finished third and Allison Johnson took fourth. Vincent, the No. 3 seed, said he was thankful for having to face Johnson, a 39-year bowler, in his first match on Sunday. "She's a great person to be paired up with," he said. "She really pushes somebody to be better." Lowe fought Vincent to a 258-258 tie (handicapped scores) in the semifinal round, but was edged out in the roll-off 27-24. Vincent out-bowled Banister in the final 242-194.
