Financial Fair highlights Military Saves Week Published March 4, 2016 By Kimberly Woodruff Staff Writer TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Airman and Family Readiness Center celebrated Military Saves Week with a Financial Fair Feb. 24 at the Tinker Club. "Financial readiness is a critical component of personal and family readiness for our military community," said Patricia Black, community readiness consultant with the A&FRC. Ms. Black said the fair was a way to give Tinker personnel ways to take charge of their finances. "Financial experts provided information to fairgoers on saving money, reducing debt and building wealth," she said. More than 140 Team Tinker members attended the fair, 15 vendors participated, 900 personnel attended financial classes during Military Saves month and almost 100 people took the Military Saves pledge. "It's a wonderful benefit. There is great information here and I appreciate the resources being offered," said Roth Nulph, as he visited the Better Business Bureau's booth. The BBB is not just a watch dog for consumers and businesses. They provided a variety of information including how to protect your identity and the identity of your children. "We build trust in the marketplace, and hold businesses to a higher standard," said Sean Rose, director of public relations and community outreach. "It's free! We're here to help."
