The 567th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron/MXDPA (Bldg. 2122 - Dock 1) is the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex FOD Award winner for FY16-1.

Approximately 10 months ago the decision was to assign work areas (Docks) to different crews in the hope of fostering "pride and ownership" across the squadron. Since adopting this type of process, they have seen significant reductions in FOD related issues and received praise from senior leaders touring the facility.

The B-1 Avionics/Electrics Section not only adheres to the principles of "Clean As You Go," they set the example for the entire squadron. The efforts of the supervisors and mechanics alike clearly set them apart from the other seven docks across the squadron. T
he "end of the shift" cleanup plans have been benchmarked throughout the squadron.
During FY16-1, the Dock 1 Team passed 33 inspections, four of which were FOD and Housekeeping focused, all with ZERO defects.  It is clear to everyone that the Dock 1 Team is clearly No. 1 of 8 docks!

Through their efforts of an aggressive standardization (6S) program; the Dock 1 Team is creating a FOD free environment for our mechanics. Additionally, the strong commitment to FOD Awareness and housekeeping in our production areas has helped the squadron achieve its highest monthly QA Pass rate in almost two years -- 91.11 percent.

Finally, the strong commitment to FOD reduction and process improvement is reaching the center's war fighting customers as well; through the efforts of the team they have produced three B-1 PDM aircraft on, or ahead of schedule this quarter with no customer reported defects.
