Thanksgiving is time to reflect on important things

Thanksgiving is upon us! This season is a time when we all pause to reflect on what is most important in life. This "pause" produces the raw material for thankfulness. Once we bring those things before us that make life meaningful we are one step away from gratitude.

Gratitude happens when we experience happiness over what we value most. As Karl Barth said, "joy is the simplest form of gratitude."

My hope for each of you, in spite of every circumstance, is that you would embrace the "pause" and allow joy to find its way to your door this holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving!
