Fall signals transitions to new seasons at the chapel Published Oct. 2, 2015 By Tinker Chapel TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Autumn not only means changes in the weather and beautiful colors in the trees, it also signals a time for change at the Tinker Chapel, according to 72nd Air Base Wing Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Sam Tucker. "We have spent the past year evaluating what we do in order to make sure we are doing the best we can to meet the religious needs of Tinker's active duty members and their families," the chaplain said. This evaluation led the chapel to make major changes in its worship and religious education schedules. The changes were identified as important requirements to better serve the active duty population. Chaplain Tucker had his Chaplain Corps staff constantly surveying the unit members as they visited various units, queried the chapel team as to what they needed to do their mission and sought the advice of the current chapel participants. The results were overwhelming in support of the changes. The new Sunday schedule is: Catholic: Mass at 9 a.m., Religious Education at 10:30 a.m. Protestant: Religious Education at 9:30 a.m., worship at 11 a.m. Chaplain Tucker encourages personnel and their families to check out the ministry options provided through the chapel. "We have something for every age group in the Catholic and Protestant communities," he said.
