Attention Tinker commuters: I-40 improvements set to begin soon Published Aug. 14, 2015 By Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is preparing to enter another stage of construction to improve traffic flow on Air Depot Boulevard, Southeast 29th Street and the Interstate 40 corridor between Tinker and Midwest City. Through Saturday, the intersection of S.E. 29th Street and Air Depot Boulevard is a four-way stop to allow crews to complete utility relocation work. Drivers can expect various lane closures throughout phase 1, which is expected to be completed by early October. Phase 2, which is projected to start by early October, will address widening of Air Depot Boulevard. Motorists are advised to use caution throughout the work zone and are urged to locate and take an alternate route. Officials will continue working closely with ODOT to ensure Tinker personnel are kept informed about the construction through official communications and Tinker's social media sites.
