Tryouts for the Tinker Hawks varsity basketball team begin next week.

Former assistant coach and new head coach Jonathan Morgan said potential recruits and returning players should come prepared for drills and practice. The first of four tryouts for the 2015-2016 season will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Gerrity Fitness Center.

The next tryouts will begin at the same time and location on Thursday and Aug. 25 and 27.

Active duty, Guard and Reserve members are eligible, along with civilian employees who work at Tinker and dependents who are 18 or older.

The Hawks are part of the Central U.S. Military Basketball Conference, one of four associated regional conferences. The Hawks travel to weekend games in and out of state and practice regularly at Tinker. The season begins the first weekend in October.
