AROUND TINKER: ITEC Spotlight Published March 5, 2015 72 ABW TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 72nd Air Base Wing Communications Directorate's Information Technology Equipment Custodian, "ITEC Spotlight," for February honors Jason Shebester of the 72nd ABW Communications Directorate and Vince Cerda of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. Mr. Shebester is the primary ITEC and Mr. Cerda is the alternate. Together they manage an account with more than $400,000 in assets. Mr. Shebester is a contractor with CNI and works as a Dedicated Computer Support CSA in the B-52 Division Fighter and Bombers Directorate. He has been in the position for the past three years and has been a CSA at Tinker for 16 years. As an ITEC for the division since 2011, Mr. Shebester enjoys having direct input on the computer equipment used and being able to get the best for the personnel he supports. Also working in the B-52 program, Mr. Cerda's primary duties include division security manager, antiterrorism representative, emergency management and other security-related functions. He retired from military/security forces and has worked at Tinker as a civilian for eight years, the last three as an ITEC. Mr. Cerda enjoys being an ITEC and says using an automated process to help perform annual inventories on their 600-plus assets has made it quicker and easier even though the assets are in several locations. Both ITECs feel a little stretched at times due to their additional ITEC responsibilities, but remain abreast of potential issues that could impact their account, proactively communicate with the ITAM office and keep a close eye on their inventory to avoid equipment loss. Mr. Shebester and Mr. Cerda are commended for the excellent way they handle their ITEC responsibilities in service to Tinker Air Force Base and its warfighters.
