The Emerging Supervisor Development Program is accepting self-nominations through Feb. 6 for employees interested in first-level supervision.

ESDP promotes a robust first-level supervisor corps through an emphasis on leadership competencies in the screening and development processes. The program selects employees based on technical qualification, initiative, and demonstrated leadership, and then it prepares them for future first-level supervisory positions.

Participating organizations are:

· Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex
· 72nd Air Base Wing
· 448th Supply Chain Management Wing
· Air Force Sustainment Center Personnel Directorate
· AFSC Engineering Directorate
· AFSC Financial Management Directorate
· AFSC Logistics Directorate
· AFSC Contracting Directorate

This year's program is open to the following series: WS-3806-9; GS-0343-13; GS-1152-12; WS-8801-10; WS-8852-10; GS-0801-13/GS-0855-13; GS-1102-13; GS-0346-13; WS-8255-10; GS-1601-13; WS-5301-11; and WS-8602-10.

Qualification for these series is based on merit promotion principles. Those selected will complete formal training, supervisory immersion and shadowing, and experiential elements en route to graduation.  Graduates are placed in a mandatory select pool for positions in which they apply and qualify for.

As part of the application and endorsement process, supervisors and endorsing officials will review the packages electronically and complete a Rating Assessment on their participating employees.  Candidates will be notified thereafter if they are selected.  Interested employees should prepare for the nomination call by preparing their resumes and assuring their most current education level is updated in their personnel records using My Biz.
