Weight management program set to begin Published Jan. 9, 2015 Health Promotions TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The holidays have come and gone, but the weight might not have. With all the celebrations, you might find you have found a few extra pounds. The extra pounds that go with these celebrations can cause additional stress. No need to worry this year, the Tinker Health Promotions team is looking out for you and will be offering assistance with the "Better Body. Better Life." class. This program is a hands-on interactive experience designed to help you meet the New Year armed with tools to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This Air Force Health Promotion healthy weight program is specifically designed to help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight and abdominal circumference, and increase the rate and impact of physical activity. The program is divided into four 2.5 hour modules. The program includes topics that focus on nutrition, behavior modification and physical activity in each module. Modules will be taught by a team which includes a Registered Dietitian, Psychologist and Exercise Physiologist. Workout clothing is recommended for the interactive fitness session of each module. Classes are limited to 10 seats per session, and begin on Jan. 15, so call Health Promotions at 736-2169 to enroll or for more information. Anyone with base access may attend the classes.
