72nd MDG personnel win AFMC awards Published Dec. 5, 2014 By Kimberly Woodruff Staff Writer TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 72nd Medical Group proves they are the best of the best by walking away with six major Air Force Materiel Command awards for the year. "It's a testament to their professionalism, expertise and how they care for our patients," said Col. Jeannine Ryder, 72nd Medical Group commander. "There is not one person on this base they don't touch, whether they are active duty, the civilian workforce, and of course our family members and retirees. Our responsibility is to ensure everyone is able to perform at their best physically, emotionally and mentally." AFMC winners are: · Capt. Carli Murphy (Optometry Flight) -- Biomedical Clinician Cat I Officer of the Year-CGO (PCS'd to the Air Force Academy) · Master Sgt. Rachel Knighten (Mental Health Flight) -- SNCO Organization Management Excellence Award -- she competed with all medical AFSCs for this award · Tech. Sgt. Eddie Roden (Physical Therapy Flight) -- Physical Medicine Craftsman Award. · Staff Sgt. Carolyn Prucha (Dental Squadron) -- Outstanding Dental NCO of the Year · Senior Airman LaToya Irving (Public Health Flight) -- Public Health Airman of the Year · Senior Airman Ethan Carter (Physical Therapy Flight) -- Physical Medicine Apprentice award "This group is the best of the best within eight AFMC Medical Treatment Facilities," Colonel Ryder said. "It is also a team effort, because no one gets to this level of performance alone, it is a testament to their work centers and supervision. Colonel Ryder said these six individuals are a testament to the safe quality care provided by the 72nd Medical Group. "I am very proud of them and honored to be their commander, as well as all the other Medics that comprise the 72nd Medical Group," she said.
