Family Health Clinic reorganizes under an operational medicine model

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE - Okla. --  The Family Health Clinic is making big changes to better serve its patients. 

All active duty members and their families will be assigned along with their entire unit to a specific family health care team. Changes will not affect retirees. The transition will be phased and occur during October and November.

The reorganization of patients by unit is very similar to Flight Medicine where flying units are assigned to a personal flight surgeon that cares for all of medical needs of the flying unit and families.  Family Health will be moving to align under this same operational medicine model. Notification letters regarding provider changes will be mailed to patients from Humana.

Each family health team is composed of at least one physician, two physician assistants and/or nurse practitioners, registered nurses and four licensed practical nurses and/or medical technicians.

The family health care team will take care of an entire squadron or unit. The team will learn the squadron mission and challenges and, as a result, understand better how to meet health care and readiness needs. With increased knowledge and familiarity with squadron missions, health care teams will be able to determine causes and treatments to assist Airmen in having a healthier workplace and family.

Four Family Health Teams will provide care for the more than 12,500 patients assigned to the Tinker Family Medicine Clinic. Team names were tailored to the Tinker mission. Listed below are the teams and team members.  

Team Skyhawk: Providers -- Dr. Bruce Stafford, 1st Lt. Casey Brock and 1st Lt. Nathan Hamilton. Nurses -- Capt. Kathy Robinson, 1st Lt. Martiene Torres. Technicians -- Tech. Sgt. John Glover, Senior Airman Joseph Hogan, Airman 1st Class Kaitlyn Tallbear, Tiffany Williams, Nicole Williams, Kylee Comstock and Mikhail Fields.
Team Falcon: Providers -- Dr. (Capt.) Erica Conrad and Maj. Tami Miller. Nurse -- Tonia Henrion. Technicians -- Tech. Sgt. Amanda Keel, Senior Airman Jordan Stafford, Angela Moran, Linda Wade and Melissa Brewington.
Team Raptor: Providers -- Dr. (Lt. Col.) Li Ing Chang, Dr. (Capt.) Sheuer and 1st Lt. Jamen Cavalier. Nurse -- Capt. Gerri Young. Technicians -- Tech. Sgt. Phillip Acosta, Senior Airman Aunna Emter, Senior Airman Yunfan Chen, Airman 1st Class Jacob Williams, Airman Dane Lothe, Kayona Hooks and Maria Deloara.
Team Eagle: Providers -- Dr. Michael Reed, Capt. Kimberly Ranieri and Joan Miller. Nurse --  Elaine Yacko. Technicians -- Senior Airman Santos Ramirez, Airman 1st Class Jaron Mehm, Airman 1st Class Zachary Nagle, Tish Richardson and Catherine Von Giese.
