Emergency response exercise this week Published Aug. 18, 2014 Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Base employees, residents and visitors may experience a temporary interruption to certain services related to quarterly emergency response exercises planned here for Aug. 18-20. The Gerrity Sports and Fitness Center will be closed to patrons from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 20. All other base operations should continue on normal schedules during this exercise. Scott Lindsey, 72nd Air Base Wing Inspector General's office, said the exercises will include a number of scenarios which will generate responses by specialized teams and other emergency responders. Those working, visiting or living near the Gerrity may see exercise activity during normal duty hours that will include a brief period of increased traffic congestion around the facility.
