AFSC/EN announces new educational program

Air Force Sustainment Center Engineering and Technical Management Directorate
The Air Force Sustainment Center Engineering and Technical Management Directorate is announcing the first cycle of the Enhanced Education for Electronics Engineering Technician Development Program.

This new educational program will support current Electronics Technicians (GS-0856) and Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex civilian employees who would like to eventually transition into an Electronics Technician position.

The program will cover tuition, books and fees for the required courses. The Software Maintenance Group expects growth over the next several years in this job series; the program is aimed at preparing current employees for potential careers as Electronics Technicians. Electronics Technicians in SMXG work on development and maintenance of automatic test systems, develop technical instructions and construct electronic devices. This education program is intended to develop the skills necessary to be a successful Electronics Technician.

Enhanced Education for Electronics Engineering Technician (4ET) Program Highlights:
· Competitively selects OC-ALC civilian employees at Tinker
· Up to six semesters to complete your certification; some candidates may need fewer semesters - classes begin in August
· Courses are taken during off-duty hours, with courses available during the day, evening and online
· All tuition, fees and books paid for required courses
· Selections will be announced in June

Important dates are as follows:
-- Today: Notification of initial intent. Send an
email with "4ET Intent" in the subject line to the AFSC/EN Workforce Development Box (AFSC.EN.Workforce.Development@us.af.mil) indicating that you plan to apply.
-- On or before June 4: Completed nomination packages are due. (Important: Packages must be complete and on time. Due to the compressed timeline, there will be no time for EN to get with candidates for corrections or re-writes.) Scan and email the completed package including the signed Supervisor Evaluation, with "4ET Nomination Package" in Subject Line to the AFSC/EN Workforce Development Box (AFSC.EN.Workforce .Development@us.af.mil).

Eligibility requirements:
· Applicants must have at least one year of continuous civilian service at Tinker
· Employee must be OC-ALC civilian
Selection will be based on written statement, competency evaluation, resumé, compass test results and interview.

Those interested in this program must submit a completed package by June 4. Some of these requirements take time to complete. If you did not receive the original email, request an application packet by emailing AFSC.EN.Workforce.Development@us.af .mil.
A complete application includes:

1. Application Form
2. Employee's Written Statement
3. Signed Evaluation from Supervisor
4. Current resumé (include any prior college experience)
5. Compass Test Results for Math and English
