The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex Strategic Plan guides personnel to focus on activities that will enable them to be successful today and into the future.

As Brig. Gen. Gene Kirkland, OC-ALC commander, stated in the Strategic Plan Video, "In this new physical environment, it is critical we have a plan to take care of our people and promote our business of delivering cost effective readiness."

The Strategic Plan does this by focusing on three major priority areas:
· Developing and Caring for Our People,
· Exceeding Customer Expectations, and
· Capturing Tomorrow's Business.

This article will take a high-level look at "Capturing Tomorrow's Business."

The overall success of any business is heavily dependent upon its ability to adapt to change and customer needs. As technology improves and the operational environment evolves, the customer expects business to react accordingly. Without this expectation, the options at a local Ford dealer would still be limited to a Model T in any color you wanted, as long as that color was black.

This also holds true within the OC-ALC. While OC-ALC personnel are experts in the repair and overhaul of aircraft, engines, exchangeables and software, to meet the Air Force's current needs, people would be wise to realize that those needs are not static and will change in the future. To put it bluntly, the needs of today will not necessarily be the needs of tomorrow.

This is where "Capturing Tomorrow's Business" comes into play. This priority's main focus is on the identification, advocacy and activation of new workload and weapon systems. By actively pursuing new work, advocating for AFSC in its entirety as the best source for the customer's needs and streamlining the activation functionality, this priority helps ensure the OC-ALC's viability for generations to come.

In the coming weeks, the OC-ALC team will begin to unpack the individual objectives that reside within this priority. Their hope is that this will begin to give greater insight into how each person can begin to "Find Your Fit" in the Strategic Plan and enable the OC-ALC to continue to achieve the "Art of the Possible."
