Tinker set to celebrate national police week May 12-16

National Police Week, which occurs each year during the week in which May 15 falls, recognizes the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. The 72nd Security Forces Squadron SFS would like to invite all to attend this year's scheduled events:

Monday, May 12
· 7 a.m. -- Reveille, Bldg. 1034
Guest Speaker: Col. Todd Vician, 72nd Mission Support Group commander
Uniform: Service dress for 72nd SFS members. All others, Uniform of the Day

· 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- Weapons/Vehicle Display and K9 Demo at the Tinker Exchange

Tuesday, May 13
· 7 a.m. to noon -- Police Week Games at First Responder Park/softball fields in new COPPLEX
Five-person teams will perform the tire flip, push up/obstacle course, HMMWV pull, ammo can dash and water balloon sling shot

Friday, May 15
· 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- Golf Tournament
Cost is $55 per person, four-person teams. Includes door prizes, goodie bag, breakfast and lunch. Team members name and rank must be submitted no later than May 10
