VITA-lly important service
Pamela Scott assists Staff Sgt. Octavia McLeod, with the OU ROTC Det. 376, with filing her 2013 taxes. Ms. Scott, a retired master sergeant from the 552nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, now is a civilian accountant with the Department of the Interior. This is her 13th year volunteering with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance office. She said that she likes to volunteer so active duty service members who need these services don’t have to pay for them. The VITA office has several changes this year. They no longer offer their services to reservists, unless they are on Title 10 orders. Additionally, the VITA office will only serve an income cap of $80,000 for anyone. They do continue to serve E-1 through E-6 and O-1 through O-3, retirees and dependents. The office, located in Bldg. 1, Door B (the south side of the building facing Arnold), is open from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. (Air Force photo by Kelly White)
