Tinker's annual severe weather exercise next week Published Feb. 14, 2014 Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Tinker Air Force Base is conducting a Natural Disaster Response Exercise Feb. 19. An alternate date of Feb. 20 will be used if severe weather is forecast. Base sirens will sound and base personnel and visitors are asked to fully cooperate with instructions from security and emergency response officials. Personnel should anticipate that there may be some delays in traffic flow at gates and in access to areas impacted by the exercise scenario. In preparation for the exercise, Tinker officials will notify local emergency response organizations with a follow-up call on the day of the exercise. Tinker officials continually evaluate exercise procedures and any future events involving extended use of Tinker's Giant Voice sirens will also be publicized through local media.
