Quality Force Retention Board Timeline
Jan. 14 to March 26 - AFPC accepting voluntary retirement/separation applications

Jan. 15 - MPS began assisting Airmen in updating record in the Military Personnel Data System

Jan. 23 - AFPC/DPSOR notifies Quality Force Review Board-eligible Airmen by personal email through the virtual MPF

January-February - Enlisted Retention Brief will be available for review by QFRB-eligible Airmen through the Air Force Portal.

March 26 - AFPC cutoff date for accepting retirement/separation applications in lieu of meeting the board

April 4 - Commander/Senior Rater provides RRF to Airmen for signature

April 4 - All completed RRFs are due to AFPC/DPSIDEB

April 25 - Cutoff date for letters to the board. Letters arriving after 11:59 p.m. on April 25 will not be presented to board for consideration

April 29 - Last date MPS elements may update corrections in MilPDS

April 30 - Earliest date AFPC will accept manual update requests to correct MilPDS

May 5-16 - Quality Force Review Board convenes

May-June - Airmen not selected for retention will be identified. Unit commander/Senior rater will notify Airmen who met the Quality Force Review Board of the results

July 1 - Airmen not selected for retention who are TDY will be returned to home station in order to conduct expedited out-processing and pre-retirement actions

Aug. 1 - Date Airmen must retire under TERA in lieu of meeting the QFRB

Sept. 29 - Latest separation date

Oct. 1 - Latest retirement date for Airmen (with 20 or more years of service)

Important Dates to remember for Enlisted Retention Board
April 11 - ERRF cutoff date -- earliest date Administrative Unit commanders will prepare an Enlisted Retention Recommendation Form and sign the ERRF for each ERB-eligible Airman

May 1 - HQ AFPC/DPSOR cutoff date for accepting voluntary retirement/separation applications in lieu of meeting the board

May 17 - All completed ERRFs are due to HQ AFPC/DPSIDEB. Unit Commander/Senior Rater provides ERRF to Airman

June 5 - Cutoff date for Airmen to submit letters to the board. Letters arriving after 11:59 p.m. on June 5 will not be presented to the board for consideration

June 11 - Last date MPS elements may update corrections in MilPDS

June 12 - Earliest date AFPC will accept manual update requests to correct MilPDS 24

June 16 - Retention Boards convene

July - SNCOs not selected for retention will be identified.

Aug. 1 - TERA retirement date for members requesting to retire in lieu of meeting the board

August - Airmen not selected for retention will be identified

Sept. 29 - Separation date for members applying for Voluntary Separation Pay in lieu of meeting the board. NOTE: Airmen who reach six years and one day of service Sept. 30 through Jan. 31, 2015, may request a separation date equal to the date they complete six years and one day of service to qualify for VSP.

Oct. 1 - SNCOs not selected for retention who are TDY will be returned to their home station in order to conduct expedited out-processing and pre-retirement actions

Dec. 1 - Technical sergeants and below not selected for retention who are TDY will be returned to their home station in order to conduct expedited out-processing and pre-retirement actions

Dec. 1 - Mandatory retirement date for SNCOs not selected for retention by the board
Jan. 31, 2015 - Mandatory separation date for Airmen not selected for retention

Feb. 1, 2015 - Latest retirement date for SNCOs retiring in lieu of meeting the retention board
