Construction has begun on Phase 1 of an eight phase major road construction project affecting Air Depot Boulevard south of Reserve Road through Patrol Road (east of the Hill Conference Center) on the south side of Tinker Air Force Base. Until Oct. 2, Patrol Road — from west of Gott Gate to the Hill Conference Center — is closed to all traffic. Signs are posted directing traffic to appropriate detour routes. The primary detour route will be Reserve Road and Rapcon Road through the 507th Air Refueling Wing area. Phase 2, beginning approximately Oct. 2, will close Gott Gate. Truck Gate operations will continue during all phases of this project. Drivers should plan alternate routes, including different gates, during these construction periods. Access to the 72nd Medical Group facility is not affected in Phase 1 of this project. Base officials will provide updates as the contractor moves through the phases of this project.
