TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. --
The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex recently announced
the establishment of an educational Program in Production and Operations
Management.
The Training and Education Program in Production and
Operations Management will provide an additional layer of expertise, within the
ranks of aircraft maintenance professionals. It is expected that this level of
expertise will also aid in the creation of new operations systems, as well as
provide improvements in the rules that govern current systems for more
efficient work output.
This call for nominees to attend Southeastern Oklahoma
State University’s Program in Production and Operations Management beginning
January 2017 seeks individuals who’ve demonstrated growth potential not only in
their current positions, but throughout their career. Candidates should also have demonstrated
through previous academic studies an ability to utilize learnings and develop
expertise to enhance their work performance.
The POM Program pays 100 percent tuition course costs for
management identified, competitively selected individuals who agree to continue
Air Force service by completing a planned, systematic, coordinated program of
coursework that may lead to a bachelor’s degree. However, the degree is
incidental to satisfying the management-identified, mission-relate training
requirements. The training program addresses current and/ or future corporate
workforce shaping and development strategies and goals.
Participants selected for the program will be required to
have an associates of Science or Arts degree or equivalent hours of college
credits (approximately 62-64 transferable credit hours); be a full time
employee of Tinker AFB, assigned to OC-ALC in a CSAG-M funded position. This
program is not open to personnel who have already earned a bachelor’s degree.
Both GS and FWS Complex employees are highly encouraged to apply.
The application period closes Oct. 17. Interested
employees can obtain application packets by calling Dr. Wynell Neece, the POM
Program point of contact, at 734-3300.
