TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. --
The Combined Federal Campaign is
in full-swing once again at Tinker AFB with a goal of raising $1,148,581.38.
This year’s theme for the world’s
largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign is ‘Camp CFC: Let
the CAMPaign Begin’. You may see posters tacked-up around the base which look
like invitations to continue summer camping or to join scouting. That’s because
the theme builds upon iconic imagery and messages for scouting and camping by
encouraging participation and coming together to help others.
There are almost 200 CFC campaigns
throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year.
Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the
campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health
and human service benefits throughout the world, according to a CFC fact sheet.
The CFC today is known to be the
most inclusive workplace giving campaign in the world with the number of
participating charities estimated at over 20,000 nonprofit charitable
organizations worldwide. The charities supported through the CFC range from
nascent community groups to large, well-known charities.
Paper forms for donations via
payroll deductions are available through your unit representative along with
booklets with the codes for thousands of organizations. You can also find the
entire list of organizations online at www.cfc-centralok.org.
The CFC of Central Oklahoma is
consistently one of the highest grossing CFC campaigns in the nation and raised
over $2.3 million in 2015.
The Tinker AFB campaign and
donation period runs Oct. 3 – Nov. 17.
