Boeing B-29 Superfortress
The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was one of the biggest aircraft of its day and remained one of the most effective for 20 years. The B-29 had many incarnations, but Tinker’s static display, tail number 44-27343, never dropped a bomb or fired a shot on a hostile target. Tail number 44-27343 was delivered in April 1945 to Gulfport, Miss., too late for World War II, but not for contributing to the Air Force mission.
