Sensing change

James Daves, an apprentice electrician with Oesco, mounts pipe above the ceiling tiles in the hallway of Bldg. 460, the 72nd Air Base Wing headquarters. The pipe will hold the wiring for “occupation sensors” which automatically turn the lights in an area on or off if they’re not being used. There are efforts under way in facilities Tinker-wide to create more energy efficient practices and approach work with a conservation-friendly mind set. Earth month is an opportunity to encourage changes that save taxpayers’ money and respect natural resources. (Air Force photo by Micah Garbarino)
