Navy petty officer
Petty Officer 2nd Class Brandi Greer, Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR, kneels by an E-6B Mercury jet at Tinker. Weary after a 13-hour flight out-of-state and with only a small flashlight at night, the petty officer’s training and instinct helped her find a crack in the air cycle machine water separator input joint behind a bay panel under the belly of the plane. If undetected, the part could have failed bringing the jet down on its next mission. For her action, Petty Officer Greer was named “Safety Pro of the Year” for the entire Navy wing here.
