Vet's thanks
Maj. Gen. David Gillett accepts a certificate of recognition from the Veterans of Foreign Wars July 15, recognizing Tinker for its high percentage of hiring veterans through the years. Figures indicate Tinker new employees were comprised of more than 35 percent veterans each year for the last five years. Officials said the number of veterans hired in the last five years is more than 2,000. Presenting the certificate to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center commander were, from left; Michael Devenitch, VFW state senior-vice commander and Tinker TF-33 engine mechanic; Charles Lawrence, VFW department adjutant/quartermaster; Emmitt (Leroy) Humphrey, Oklahoma VFW commander; and Larry Moore, Oklahoma VFW chief of staff.
