Honor flights
During the May 3 Oklahoma Honor Flights program at Rose State College, six Junior ROTC cadets recite the oath of office administered to them by World War II veteran Frank Mahan. A symbolic passing of the baton from the World War II veterans to the cadets, showed the high school students’ commitment to serving their country once they graduate. The 97 Oklahoma veterans honored during the program left the next morning on a trip to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
