Yukla-27

Canadian Detachment Chief Warrant Officer Richard Nadeau and U.S. Air Force Col. Scott Forest, 552nd Air Control Wing vice commander, salute the flags after laying a wreath Sept. 22 during a YUKLA 27 memorial ceremony at Tinker. Family and 552nd ACW members attended the solemn ceremony to honor the 24-member crew who died after the E-3 Sentry crashed during takeoff from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, in 1995. Tinker’s memorial, located near the “Connie” aircraft static display near Bldg. 469, was dedicated in 1996, one year after the fatal crash. (Air Force photo by Margo Wright)
