Scott Gill

Scott Gill, server administration branch chief in the 72nd Air Base Wing Communications Directorate, plays a key role in keeping the thousands at Tinker up and running with active servers at all times. During a recent massive undertaking of consolidating servers, he and others worked to find and remove old, unsupported equipment. That created a mountain of unserviceable gear and quickly turned the server room into a “mess,” described Mr. Gill. He and a team cleared the servers, did all the necessary paperwork and sent them to DRMO. Then Mr. Gill finished the server room cleanup project and turned a mountain of a mess into a “6S poster effort,” one that caught the attention of his commander, Col. Mary Gillam and deputy director Kelley Butler. “Scott sees problems and he fixes them,” praised Ms. Butler. “He has endless initiative.
