Fuel for Round-the-World Flight
This B-29 of the U.S. Air Force was photographed Feb 27 high above the Azores as she put fuel aboard the B-50 bomber that successfully completed a non-stop round-the-world flight. The picture was made by 1st Lt. Arthur M. Neal, Visalia, Cal., during the refueling operation completed by means of the hose line shown trailing from the rear of the plane. Lt. Neal was second pilot of the record making plane. (APWirephoto);
