Lean boards
A simple change, reflective of Tinker’s ongoing Lean thinking, was a major improvement in helping Bldg. 3102’s Inspection Dock work and a morale boost. New boards give up-to-date knowledge to mechanics and supervisors and alert to hold ups or successes where every hour delay can affect a process chain with more than 100 hand-offs. Craig Smith, I-Dock chief; sheet metal mechanic John Dixon; aircraft mechanic Rodney Radford; aircraft logistics specialist Lori Wilson; and aircraft mechanic Robert McCoy, from left, meet twice daily to update information.
