Cradle to grave

Cradle to Grave is a short name for a large job this team tackles daily for Tinker personnel as they take in excess computer hardware from organizations base wide. The 72nd Air Base Wing Cradle-Grave-Repair office recently celebrated a service milestone by processing their 10,000th item. Brian Carrethers, Carl Davis, Jim Rankin and Doug Tesch, from left, fill another pallet container in Bldg. 3001 with gear for shipment to the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service. The team’s goal is to make equipment consolidation easier by helping inventory custodians easily dispose of equipment. Now custodians can simply transfer items to the C-G-R who repair or recycle to a new base user or palletize and ship off base. What began as a help to the 76th Maintenance Wing now has customers from every organization and the Cradle-Grave-Repair team plans to expand their locations to two other base areas this year.
