Cyber command
Maj. Gen. Richard Webber, right, 24th Air Force commander, visited Tinker recently to tour the 3rd Combat Communications Group and the 38th Cyberspace Engineering Group, where he unveiled the new unit insignia for the 38th. Both units were recently placed under the new 24th Air Force and Air Force Space Command. The general inspected and addressed the units and outlined some of the challenges in the creation of a new numbered Air Force. He also explained some of the new mission requirements for current and future Airmen. Space Command is charged with conducting the majority of the Air Force’s cyberspace operations. The 24th Air Force is the newest, numbered Air Force and is headquartered at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. (Air Force photo by Margo Wright)
