Inspectors observe Tinker Fire and Emergency Services personnel during their Consolidated Unit Inspection last Thursday. Fire crews responded to a staged initial fire attack at Bldg. 1124, a two-story structure used for training purposes. The inspectors observed the initial coordination of the crews, and how they deployed and advanced lines into the structure. They watched the search crew clear the building, the vent crew release heated gases and combustibles and the rapid intervention team protecting the other crews. This was one of many inspections taking place around base in Air Force Materiel Command, Air Combat Command and Air Force Reserve Command units last week. (Air Force photo by Kelly White)

Airmen process through the deployment line during the most recent Phase One exercise at Tinker. When processing for their deployment, Airmen must ensure their records, training, medical and legal information is up to date. The members who work on the processing line deploy hundreds of Airmen during each exercise. These events will help prepare Airmen for the upcoming joint Operational Readiness Inspection. Before the inspection, Team Tinker members will continue to hold deployment exercises and respond to other scenarios, including major accidents and force protection emergencies. Lt. Gen. Norman Seip watches 3rd Combat Communications Group Airmen in an exercise scenario during the 12th Air Force commander’s visit to the Herd last week. General Seip will retire in October after commanding 12th Air Force for three years. He came to Tinker to visit and thank and the Airmen for their service.
