Passing fancy

With a defender closing in, Reserve White quarterback Ralph Hawkins finds his target, receiver Brian VanCuren, during intramural flag football action Tuesday night. Reserve White jumped out to a 17-0 halftime lead and coasted to a 24-6 win over the 31st Combat Communications Squadron Red Bulls. The veteran QB struck for two touchdown passes — a 60 yarder and another for 20 yards — both to Mike Templeman. Templeman also returned an interception for the third and final touchdown, sealing the victory for the Reserve squad and earning the game’s Most Valuable Player honors. Placekicker Chris Montalbano hit on all three extra points and a first half field goal to lead the Reserve special teams. Red Bull captain and tight end Matt Szaban hauled in a short TD pass from Cole Wilkinson to notch the lone score for the 31st. (Air Force photo by April McDonald)
