Pivotal success
The process is complicated because the engines and the engine nacelles must be removed to allow access to the pivot pins. Balsa wood is built in to plug any gaps and keep liquid nitrogen from pouring out. Heating blankets were also placed to heat and expand the structure surrounding the pin.
