Birds be gone
Simple tools such as powerful binoculars help USDA wildlife biologist Clarke Baker scan the Tinker airfield for bird problems. Birds are a constant problem, but spring, fall and rainy weather keep Mr. Baker and his co-worker the busiest as flocks of migrating birds present the biggest threat to aircraft. While birds are the most common hazard on Tinker’s airfield, coyotes and other mammals can also be a problem and keep the authorized wildlife team busy.
