Back home again

For 25 of Tinker’s Security Forces Airmen, Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City became reunion central as they saw family and squadron mates for the first time in six months. The Airmen were deployed to Southwest Asia. The reunion was an emotional one for Airman 1st Class Brandon Sistrunk, 72nd Security Forces Squadron, who held his son, Landon Cade Sistrunk, for the first time. For Airman Sistrunk, who spent most of his time searching vehicles coming onto the base, the time was well spent. “It strengthened me,” he said. “It went pretty smooth, but the hardest thing was being away from family … and dealing with the heat.” Hundreds of Tinker Airmen are deployed daily in support of the current fight.
