Tree farm

Bruce Sparks prunes a winged elm recently at the Tinker Tree Farm. Tucked behind homes in base housing, the farm is home to many varieties that will grow from inexpensive seedlings to high-dollar trees ready for planting across Tinker and in the community. Besides improving the quality of life for Tinker families and workers, each tree planted returns approximately $200 worth of services each year in reducing soil erosion, air pollution and lowering air conditioning costs in summer.
