The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center’s Engineering Directorate sponsored a Scientist and Engineer Open House Aug 15. Approximately 300 scientists and engineers attended the event which focused on increasing awareness of the many career development programs available. Beth Murray, from the Directorate’s Work Force Development Branch, led the team in developing and hosting the event. The open house included information booths, contests, and refreshments. EN employees from the Financial, Operations, and Workforce Development Branches were on-hand to provide informational flyers and answer questions. Greg Yort, left, an EN career manager, describes opportunities to Danny Barron, 727th an Aircraft Sustainment Group engineer. “I want to learn all I can to advance my career in the right direction,” said Mr. Barron. “This kind of information can help me do that”. Mr. Yort agreed. “This event is important because scientists and engineers need to know about programs that will further their careers, “ he said. “We want the best, most well-rounded people. It’s important to show what we can do for the approximately 1100 scientists and engineers at the centers.” (Air Force photo/Margo Wright)
