Recolections
Tinker mechanical engineer Bang Nguyen visits with Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center Commander, Maj. Gen. Loren Reno after learning they share a defining moment of history. More than thirty years ago, thousands of miles away, Gen. Reno was a young Airman helping evacuate American and Vietnamese families as Saigon was falling to the communists. Mr . Nguyen was 18, urged to flee his homeland with two younger siblings and only the clothes they were wearing. The two men recalled their shared experiences recently during a brief visit in the commander’s office.(Air Force photo/Margo Wright)
