Volunteers clean up for Earth Day
More than 35 volunteers were out in force April 18 picking up trash in Tinker’s Urban Greenway. The volunteers — from Balfour Beatty Communities, various Tinker units and Earth Rebirth, a non-profit natural resources/sustainability organization from Norman — systematically cleaned 44 acres of natural area in the Greenway. According to John Krupovage, Tinker’s Natural Resources manager with the 72nd Air Base Wing Civil Engineering Directorate, an estimated 33 cubic yards of trash was picked up during the event.
