FOD
The 545th Propulsion Maintenance Squadron TF-33 Sub Assembly shop is the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex Quarterly FOD award winner for FY14-4. The shop earned this distinguished achievement based on their ability to incorporate lean initiatives that reduced the risk of FOD. The Sub Assembly shop carries a high FOD rate potential which requires greater attention to detail; therefore, the shop developed a gated approach to include a kitting process reducing FOD risks. As parts are moved from gate to gate, kitting coupled with the shop’s FOD awareness has created a clean work environment. By following the TAFB FOD Prevention Program and using positive practices, like clean as you go and positive tool control, the 545th PMXS TF-33 Sub Assembly shop team has successfully passed all FOD inspections conducted over the past quarter.
