Anniversary
DLA Document Services celebrated its 65th anniversary on Monday by having the acting director of the Tinker branch, Mike Smith, and the youngest member of the Tinker staff, Amanda Blanchard, cut the cake. Headquarters Director Steve Sherman gave a history of their organization through a teleconference call, citing important dates, such as how the organization was created in 1949 and became the Department of Defense Printing Service. In October of 1996, they became a part of DLA, and in 2010 were renamed DLA Document Services. Their mission is to prints various maps, manuals and orders to directly serve the warfighter.
