Brig. Gen. Gene Kirkland, commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, made a presentation at the Oklahoma County Commission’s Dec. 31 session. Tinker leadership from OC-ALC and 72nd Air Base Wing were on hand to witness the commission’s vote to transfer Tinker’s Bldg. 9001 and associated facilities to the Air Force. The former General Motors plant was acquired by Oklahoma County in 2008 and has been leased by Tinker AFB since then. The OC-ALC has already transformed more than 75 percent of Bldg. 9001’s 2.5 million square feet into a world-class aerospace facility which houses 1,700 employees performing software, propulsion and commodities maintenance. Pictured with General Kirkland are, from left, Commissioners Willa Johnson, Brian Maughan and Ray Vaughn. (Courtesy photo)
