Hunting hatchlings
Gretchen Cole a veterinarian with the Oklahoma City Zoo, uses an electronic caliper to measure a Texas horned lizard hatchling while visiting the base’s Urban Greenway last week. Ms. Cole and other volunteers from the OKC Zoo and the University of Oklahoma, to include Donna Nolan, a natural resources technician and scientist researcher, located two hatchlings they estimate to be about a week old during their visit Aug. 20.
