We all scream for ice cream
Airmen have a new way to cool off at the Vanwey Dining Facility thanks to a suggestion made by Staff Sgt. James Meyer at a dorm council meeting about a year ago. “We do act on good ideas,” said 72nd Air Base Wing Command Chief Thomas Christopher. “It may take a while, but we do listen.” Sergeant Meyer, a computer systems programmer with the 552nd Air Network Control Squadron, said he likes the new machine and he’s glad he listened to the technical sergeant who told him to speak up and ask for ice cream during the meeting. The machine currently features chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate chip mint ice cream, said Nancy Killmeyer, DFAC facility manager. Ms. Killmeyer said she’s also taking requests to see what other flavors people are interested in. They also plan to add cones soon. Enjoying some ice cream are, from left, Chief Christopher; Senior Airman Noelle Burleson, Dorm Council vice president; Sergeant Meyer; John Noble, 72nd Force Support Squadron Sustainment Services flight chief; and Ms. Killmeyer.
