Production partnership

Doug Dynes, national security adviser for Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), center, visited the Air Force Sustainment Center headquarters Tuesday to receive a comprehensive look at the relationship between Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and AFSC as it relates to responsibilities for weapons systems, from acquisition to sustainment to retirement. AFLCMC Commander Lt. Gen. John Thompson, left, and AFSC Commander Lt. Gen. Lee Levy II accompanied Mr. Dynes. The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, one of three AFSC complexes, and AFLCMC program offices highlighted the partnership with a tour of various aircraft production, depot maintenance lines and software platforms. AFSC and AFLCMC lead engineers, Kevin Stamey and John Hedke, also briefed Mr. Dynes with an update on the Complex of the Future and the relationship between AFSC and AFLCMC engineering to reduce material cost and introduce additive manufacturing into the sustainment process, including manufacturing airworthiness parts.
