Mark Johnson celebrate Coleman Miller’s 50 years of federal service during a Dec. 7 ceremony. Mr. Miller, 544th Propulsion Maintenance Squadron unit chief, began his federal career on Nov. 8, 1955, as an apprentice at the Naval Ordnance Station Louisville in Louisville, Ky. He has served in many positions throughout his career, but said his favorite job was qualification of Navy standard missile hardware for manufacturing by Naval Ordnance. He has collaborated with the Army, Marine Corps and Naval defense contracts to develop, prototype and qualify military hardware for production. He served as first line supervisor in Heat Treatment, Plating, Paint and Thermal Spray; as unit chief in Special Processes, General Machining, General Welding and F100 engines; as well as on numerous transformation projects including TF33 and F100 engines. Mr. Miller has been at Tinker for 20 years. He said getting his 50-year pin became a personal goal after he received his 30-year pin. (Air Force photo by Joye Vanzandt/Released)
